Karen Bogisch grew up in Seguin, Texas, and received her B.A. degree, summa cum laude, in economics, from Texas Lutheran College in 1988. Karen graduated from Boston College Law School cum laude in 1991 and worked for a Massachusetts law firm before returning to Texas in 1994. In 1998, Karen and Bob Goldsmith formed Goldsmith & Bogisch and were partners for twenty years. At G&B, Karen supervised the firm’s oil and gas title examination section as well as worked on litigation and transactional projects. In her current law practice, Karen handles a variety of matters for her clients, including negotiating and drafting oil and gas leases, easements, surface use agreements, surface use waivers, solar ground leases, and other agreements related to oil, gas, and energy matters. Karen also provides advice regarding title issues, royalty payment disputes, and other property-related matters and has over 20-years’ experience examining title to minerals in Texas. Karen is admitted to practice before state courts in Texas and Massachusetts and before Federal courts in the Western District of Texas.

Karen is active in the Austin community, belonging to the Rotary Club of Austin - North by Northeast and the Austin Yacht Club. At the Rotary Club of Austin - North by Northeast, Karen is the editor of its newsletter and a member of its board of directors. Karen is an active participant in organized sailboat racing at the Austin Yacht Club, serving as the club secretary for 2018 and 2019. Karen has also become involved in activities at her alma mater, Texas Lutheran University, where she serves on the Development Board and has started a scholarship in her name. Her involvement in the local bar includes performing for 20 years in Bar & Grill, a benefit show sponsored by the Austin Bar Association and the Austin Young Lawyers Association as a fundraiser for legal services for the poor and other charitable causes. She is also member of the Oil Gas and Mineral Law section of the Austin Bar Association and a member of the Oil, Gas and Energy Resources Law Section of the State Bar of Texas.
